Uganda Sevens (men’s team) had a false outing in the opening circuit of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series held last week in Dubai (Dubai 7s) where they lost all their matches.
Albeit an impressive show by debutant Denis Etwau, the Tolbert Onyango coached side struggled against core sides and for now, it’s safe to say the learning curve continues.
The Cape Town 7s scheduled for 9-11th December is the last event Uganda Sevens will be participating in this season’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series for they are an invitational side, not a core team. However, they will most definitely seek to make the best of it ahead of the 2023 season.
