Platinum Credit Heathens scrum-half Aaron Ofoyrwoth scored a late drop kick as his side beat perennial rivals Kobs 15-17 during matchday three of the Nile Special Rugby Premier League at Legends Grounds in Kampala.

It was the last kick of the game and Ofoyrwoth who is one of the best kickers in the domestic top flight league ensured that he put the ball up in between the sticks to grab the lead from Kobs’ grasp and break the hearts of the home crowd.

He was named man of the match and walked him UGX 100,000 and a plaque, courtesy of Nile Special.

It was a very close affair at Legends as Kobs posted a slim 12-06 lead at half time. After Heathens gaining lead later in the second half, the Kyadondo based side were penalized and Joseph Aredo scored a penalty to earn the home side a 15-14 lead. Ofoyrwoth later had the final say though to earn his side a win in the fixture dubbed “The Lions Cup.”

Else where, Stanbic Black Pirates maintained their perfect run with an 08-17 win over Hippos at Dam Waters in Jinja whilst Impis beat Mongers 13-15 at the House of Pain in Entebbe to remain the other team yet to lose a match in the league.

Rams held Rhinos to a 03-03 stalemate at the Makerere Graveyard whilst Buffaloes beat new comers Walukuba Barbarians 25-13 at Kyadondo Sports Club to keep them winless.

The women’s league also returned with Thunderbirds posting a century win off a 05-110 mauling of Ewes whilst Black Pearls beat Avengers 08-19 in the other game.
