Batsman Gerald Olipa was unbeaten on the crease as Uganda U-19 boys national cricket team, Baby Cricket Cranes beat Sai Cricket Academy by 8 wickets (92/2 against 90 all out) to win a second straight match in their Tour To India at Sanjay Farm on Wednesday.
Olipa posted a game high 50 runs off 27 balls, comprising of 8 fours as Uganda easily chased the 90 runs set by Sai Cricket Academy who won the toss and elected to bat.
Ronald Omara followed with 23 runs off 34 balls, a tally that comprised of 4 fours. He was however bowled by Karan Rao.
The other two Ugandans who were on the crease were; Captain Fahad Mutagana who was bowled by Dhyey M Ahir after 1 run from 4 balls and Brian Asaba who hit 2 fours and 1 run (9 from 8) and was the other unbeaten player on the crease.
For Sai Cricket Academy’s innings, T Priyansh led the way with 39 runs from 54 balls, hitting 6 fours in the process. He was however caught by Benjamin Baguma following Tandia Abdul Aziz’s delivery and was the only player to manage double figures in his team.
However, it was Uganda’s Joseph Baguma who was named player of the match after picking 6 wickets and was pivotal in restricting the rival side to just 90 runs in a 50-over match.
The Baby Cricket Cranes will be resting tomorrow before returning to action the next day.
The team will play six 50-over games and one T20 match against select sides organized by Sanjay Farm during the visit to India.
