The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has announced that the U16 Uganda National Team (Boys) will take part in the FIBA Africa U16 zone 5 qualifiers set to take place in Kigali, Rwanda from June 28-30, 2023.
The boys have been undergoing training at the national indoor stadium in Lugogo under the stewardship of Coach Andrew Tendo together with his team of associate coaches, and they are ready to take on the.challenge against hosts Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzanian junior sides.
The Federation thanks all the stakeholders especially the parents for supporting the team and making sure that they travel to represent the nation.
“We are very positive that the boys have been equipped through the multiple practice sessions and are in position to jump over this qualifiers hurdle” Hudson Ssegamwenge who is Secretary General, FUBA said.
The Ugandan side departed for Kigali on June 25, 2023 at 8:00 a.m and they will need to finish among the top teams to qualify for the FIBA U16 Afrobasket championships that are scheduled to take place from August 13-23, 2023 in Tunisia.
