The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has announced that the U16 Uganda National teams (Men and Women) will take part in the FIBA U16 Africa Championships set to take place in Monastir, Tunisia from July 13-23, 2023.
Both teams have been undergoing training at the YMCA, Wandegeya and Nakasero Primary school under the stewardship of coaches Michael Seger and John Omondi together with their team of associate coaches. The players are ready and can’t wait to get started.
‘The success that we registered in Kigali, Rwanda during the qualifiers last month ignited a belief in the players that we belong to the big stage and they are ready for the challenge ahead in Tunisia. I am confident that the teams will qualify for the U17 world championships due next year’- Hudson Ssegamwenge (Secretary General-FUBA).
The teams will depart for Monastir today, July 12, 2023 aboard Emirates Airlines and they will need to finish among the top teams to qualify for next year’s world championships.
