1xBet and Wakiso Giants have announced the extension of arguably the most exciting deal in Ugandan football.

Wakiso Giants commenced an agreement with 1xBet at the start end of the 2021/22 season for a deal worth 65,000 $ (Ug. 242 million) then.

In the new deal that will last until the end of the 2023/24 with an option for further years, the international betting company has offered an improved deal worth 100,000 $ (Ugx. 371 million).

Club CEO Sula Kamoga says that they are delighted with the extension of this contract with 1xBet as it shows the level of confidence they have in the team. They promise to use the partnership to ensure the club continues to grow performances.

“This is a timely boost ahead of the season that kicks off this weekend.”

Tony Dhabangi (Head of Operations, 1xBet Uganda) noted that; “when we signed last year, we promised renewal of this contract if all went all. In this new agreement, we have added more finances to ensure the club improves in all spheres and we shall renew the marriage next year if all goes well.

“As a company, we are supportive of Ugandan sport and this partnership is part of the many Corporate Social Responsibilities activities that we carry on.”

Brian Ssenyonga Charles, Wakiso District Sports Officer who spoke on behalf of the Wakiso District Chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika who is the club patron, revealed that they are happy with the main kit sponsors 1xBet for renewing their support towards the club.

“As a district, we shall continue to support the team and also mobilise fans to watch games and also buy club merchandise.”

Hassan Lule (Club Chairman):

“We want to thank 1xBet for their financial contribution to the club that started last season and will continue this season. Its something we can’t take for granted and with them, we shall continue to be competitive.

“I want to thank everyone associated with the club from the players, staff, sponsors, technical staff to the playing staff. To the fans, we promise even better next season.”
