The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with the host nations of the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN), has officially announced the venues for the tournament’s opening, third-place, and final matches.
The 2024 edition of CHAN — jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda — is scheduled to take place from 2nd to 30th August 2025, marking the tournament’s return to East Africa for the first time since Rwanda hosted it in 2016.
According to the CAF statement, the opening match will be held at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on 2nd August 2025.
Uganda’s Mandela National Stadium, also known as Namboole, has been designated to host the third-place playoff, further cementing the country’s role as a key stakeholder in the historic tri-nation tournament.
The final match is set to take place on 30th August 2025 at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, where the continent’s top home-based national teams will battle for continental glory.
Additionally, CAF has confirmed Zanzibar’s Amaan Stadium as one of the host venues. The island recently hosted the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Final and continues to emerge as a growing hub for continental football events.
