The Uganda Cranes will be hoping to all but seal qualification to the Africa cup of nations when they host Burkina Faso at Kitende on Wednesday.

Uganda start the day in second spot on 7 points, one behind Burkina Faso with two games to play.

A win will see them go to 10 points and requiring to avoid defeat away to Malawi to seal a spot at the finals in Cameroon early next year.

Local coaches Abdallah Mubiru, Livingstone Mbabazi and Fred Kajoba are in charge of the game following FUFA’s suspension of head coach Johnathan McKinstry.

After a shock loss to South Sudan last time out, the Cranes are desperate for victory so as not to be under pressure in their final game.

Ahead of the game, Striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru and defender Bevis Mugabi pulled out and are not part of the squad while Khalid Aucho was dismissed from camp.

News coming in after the last training is the winger Abdul Lumala is carrying a knock and he is doubtful to feature.

The Israel based trio of William Luwagga Kizito, Timothy Awany and Fahad Bayo arrived later in the afternoon on Tuesday and did not train.

It remains to be seen whether the coaching staff would consider them for the game.

Burkina Faso are without Steve Yago and Cyrille Bayala who are restricted from travelling by French Ligue 1 authorities but have Charles Kabore, Lassina Traore and Bertrand Traore available for selection.

This will be the eighth meeting between the nations – Uganda won 1, Burkina Faso 2 and 4 draws in last seven meetings.

The last two meetings have ended in goalless draws – including the first leg in this qualifying campaign in Ouagadougou.

*Cranes Probable Line-up*

Denis Onyango, Elvis Bwomono, Ronald Mukiibi, Timothy Awanyi, Joseph Ochaya, Tadeo Lwanga, Michael Azira, Moses Waiswa, Emmanuel Okwi, Faruku Miya, Patrick Kaddu.
