Bagoole Leaves Busoga United By Mutual Consent

Uganda Premier League side Busoga United have confirmed that midfielder David Bagoole has left the club by mutual consent.

The departure of Bagoole, alias ‘Tongo Po’ was confirmed on Friday via a club statement, bringing the player’s two-year stint at the club to an end, following his arrival in September 2018 as a free agent from DR Congo’s side Bukavu Dawa.

The club has bid the midfield maestro a fitting farewell as he seeks to find a new home.

“Bagoole David is synonymous with this football club, as a player and son of the land and that will never change,” part of the club statement signed by it’s Chief Executive Andrew Ndyabahika stated.

“He is quite simply a Busoga United great, having helped transform the identity and history of the club,” another part of the statement read.

Ndyabahika and the entire board expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the player for his effort and achievements saying that they will not take his time at the club for granted.

Ndyabahika further stated that given his personal friendship with the player, it was hard to let him go and it took over a week to arrive at the decision.

“A decision like this cannot be taken lightly. This is why the matter has been discussed together at length for  the past few weeks.”

“We wish Tongo Po well for whatever the future holds and hope he enjoys some much deserved and well earned time with his prospective football family,” Ndyabahika noted in his farewell message.

In the previous season that ended prematurely due to COVID-19, Bagoole managed two goals and five assists, helping to the club to a fourth place finish, the team’s best berth in top flight football.

At the moment, Bagoole is reportedly courted by top tier sides like Vipers and URA FC.
Reports also claim that he is wanted by outfits from Kenya and Tanzania.
