Basketball: Nerima Reflects On Life At Miracle
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Shooting guard Emily Katrina Nerima was supposed to make her full debut at Miracle Eaglets Basketball Club this year but Covid-19 happened.

Nerima joined the team last year but she was on and off as she spent most of the time at school (Seeta High School, Main Campus).

Having finished her S.6 last year, Nerima who has also had stints with the women’s national junior team was poised to concentrate on her hoops career but Covid-19 has been a damper on her plans, just like many of us.

However, albeit the current situation that has forced sport to grind to a halt since March, Nerima has reflected on her stay at Miracle.

“It’s been great!” Nerima told the club’s YouTube Channel. “It’s a team where you don’t want to leave, where you always want the next season to start; so that you meet out with the family, it’s a great place to be!” Nerima said.

Nerima whose love for the game was sparked off by team mate Christine Nagita during their days at St Joseph Naggalama is now eager to get back on court once it is safe to do so.

“In my first day on court after this, I envision myself making a three point shot, a dribble with someone falling and just shooting the ball,” Nerima added.

However, with the noose on gyms yet to be loosened as a Covid-19 preventive measure, Nerima claims that it’s been hard to do workouts for it is not easy adopting to individual training.
Going forward, Nerima now looks forward to the day when competitive play is reinstated.

“The fans should expect a better player in me; good at shooting like all the time any time, I will be shooting non-stop so they (fans) should be ready. I will also make more coordination with the team to make it great,” Nerima added.

Miracle Eaglets, a women’s Division 1 outfit will be seeking a great display next season as they seek to climb the ladder to the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL).
