The stage is set for one of East Africa’s premier rugby showdowns as the Enterprise Cup 2026 enters its highly anticipated quarterfinal phase this Saturday, March 21.
The cross-border tournament will feature eight of the region’s top club teams from Uganda and Kenya competing in a knockout format across two venues.
Widely regarded as the highest-level club rugby competition in East Africa, the Enterprise Cup brings together four elite teams from each country. Representing Kenya are KCB Rugby, Kabras Sugar, Nondescripts, and Menengai Oilers, while Uganda fields Stanbic Black Pirates, Platinum Credit Heathens, KCB KOBs, and Toyota Buffaloes.
Matches will be hosted at Muteesa II Royal Stadium in Wankulukuku, Uganda, and ASK Grounds in Nakuru, Kenya, highlighting the tournament’s regional appeal and growing competitiveness.
The quarterfinal fixtures promise intense action, with Uganda hosting two matches: Platinum Credit Heathens will face Kenya’s Kabras Sugar at 2:00 PM EAT, followed by Stanbic Black Pirates taking on KCB Bank at 4:00 PM EAT. Meanwhile in Kenya, Nondescripts will battle Uganda’s KCB KOBs at 1:00 PM EAT, before Menengai Oilers meet Toyota Buffaloes at 3:00 PM EAT.
Tournament organizers emphasize that all participating teams qualified on merit through their respective domestic competitions, ensuring a high standard of play. The knockout format raises the stakes, with only the strongest teams advancing toward the coveted title.
The Enterprise Cup, originally established in 1929, remains one of the most prestigious rugby competitions in the region. This year’s edition features an enhanced cross-border format, further strengthening rugby ties between Uganda and Kenya while offering clubs additional opportunities for silverware.
