Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards for January 2025 celebrated three exceptional athletes, recognizing their remarkable achievements in their respective sports.

The first awards of 2025 took place on Tuesday, January 7th, at Lazio Bar and Restaurant in Kololo, Kampala. Top performers in boxing, football, and athletics for December 2024 were honored during the event.

In boxing, the accolade went to a star in making, Nuhu Batte who destroyed every boxer he faced in the season three of the Uganda Boxing Champions League, wining all his five bouts in the year 2024.

Nuhu Batte was the boxing winner.

In December, the humble intelligent boxer registered the most remarkable win against his gym captain and also the national team (Bomber) leader Ukasha Matovu. The win in the final held at UMA on Boxing Day handed him a welterweight belt.

To win the accolade, Batte defeated Owen Kibira and Ezra Ssali to emerge December boxer of the month.

While receiving the accolade Batte noted; “I thank Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions for this award, this is my begining, my dream is too big, my aims are not here, I am looking to become an international boxer”

In football, Uganda Cubs (U17 national football team) prospect James Boogere defeated his seniors from Uganda Cranes, Jude Ssemugabi and CHAN captain Allan Okello.

His tally of seven goals in four games ensured Uganda won the CECAFA regional qualifier against Tanzania last month at Hamz stadium in Nakivubo.

In netball, She Cranes mid-court player Margret Baagala was named the winner, beating teammates Gloria Aya and professional player Mary Nuba to the award.

Baagala’s standout performance at the 2024 Africa Netball Championship in Namibia, where she helped the team secure a silver medal and earned a spot among the tournament’s best seven players, sealed her victory.

The Real Star Sports Agency, in partnership with Fortebet Uganda and Jude Color Solutions, is now in its sixth year of recognizing outstanding performers in various sports every month.
