Kibuli Secondary School have been crowned winners of the 2025 FUFA TV Cup after defeating Jinja Senior Secondary School 3-1 in the grand final played on Tuesday, September 9, at St. Joseph’s College Layibi in Gulu City.
A brace from striker Wacha David sealed victory for “The School,” who reclaimed their dominance against a Jinja side that had beaten them earlier in the group stages. Jinja came into the final unbeaten, but Kibuli’s sharpness in front of goal made the difference on the big stage.
Jinja SSS had shown resilience after conceding an early opener, with tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) John Brian Owino converting from the penalty spot to level matters. However, Kibuli quickly restored their lead and never looked back, eventually stretching the scoreline to 3-1.
Earlier in the day, hosts St. Joseph’s College Layibi delighted their home crowd with a convincing 3-1 victory over defending champions Nabumali High School in the third-place playoff. Raymond Okello netted a brace, while captain Badru Ogwang added the third. Nabumali’s consolation came through Emmanuel Situma.
