Uganda Premier League side Vipers SC have parted ways with their head coach Livingstone Mbabazi, a club statement confirmed today.
Mbabazi’s arrival at Vipers on New Year’s Day has been followed by ongoing speculation about his departure, which has now been confirmed.
“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Livingstone Mbabazi.”
“We thank Mbabazi for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”
Richard Wasswa will take the team as Acting Head Coach for the remainder of the season, along with Jose Esdras Costa Lopez, Fred Muhumuza, Richard Kasule Bakabulindi & Ali Kimera (goalkeeping coach) as assistants.
“The search for a new head coach next season (2024/25) is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete,” another part of the club missive read.
Vipers currently hold the third position in the league standings, boasting 41 points. Their next match is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9th, where they will face off against SC Villa at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
