Namugongo Vocational & Secondary School advances to Round of 16 at ISF Volleyball Championship

Uganda’s Namugongo Vocational Secondary School dominated the opening match against Georgia with a remarkable 2-0 victory at the ongoing ISF Volleyball Championship in Belgrade, Serbia.

In the first set, Namugongo secured a convincing 25-10 win, followed by a 25-9 victory in the second set.

In their final group game, Namugongo demonstrated their dominance against Bulgaria. The first set ended 27-25 in favor of Namugongo Vocational Secondary School, while the second set concluded 26-24, maintaining their lead throughout.

This achievement secured Namugongo a spot in the round of 16.

Namugongo will face Cyprus in the next round of the International School Federation World Schools Volleyball Championship 2024 in Serbia.

In other matches:

The 2023 National champions, Standard High School Zzana (Uganda 3) from Wakiso district, narrowly lost 2-0 to Germany with set scores of 25-15 and 25-13.

Bukedea Comprehensive School (Uganda 2) faced a defeat against Cyprus with set scores of 19-25 and 15-25.

Bukedea Comprehensive School (Uganda 2) and Standard High School Zzana (Uganda 3) will compete in classification games today.
