Rwandan champions APR FC have bolstered their squad by signing Ugandan players Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka on two-year contracts.
The club officially announced the new additions on Wednesday, January 8, as they prepare for the second round of the league campaign.
“Join us in welcoming to APR FC Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka (wingers). Welcome aboard,” the club stated in an official announcement.
Omedi, 30, joins from Kitara FC, where he showcased versatility as both a winger and striker.
His exceptional goal against KCCA in the 2024 Super 8 quarterfinals earned a nomination for the prestigious FIFA Puskas Award.
Kiwanuka, 24, formerly of Villa SC, has also been impressive this season, with 5 goals and 3 assists in 13 appearances.
Reports indicate APR paid $20,000 to secure Kiwanuka’s services, while the transfer fee for Omedi remains undisclosed.
Both players are expected to play key roles in APR’s title defense as the campaign intensifies.
