Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put has named a 25-man squad for the TotalEnergies AFCON 2025 finals, with seven players selected from clubs based in Uganda, underlining the growing confidence in the country’s domestic league.
Vipers SC lead the local representation with three players included in the final squad. Defender Rogers Torach and centre-back Hilary Mukundane have been rewarded for their consistency at the back, while attacking midfielder Allan Okello earns his place after impressive performances in the Uganda Premier League.
SC Villa forward Reagan Mpande is the sole representative from the Jogoos, with his strength, work rate and league form convincing the technical bench ahead of the continental showpiece.
KCCA FC contribute two attackers, Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Shafik Nana Kwikiriza, both of whom have stood out in domestic competitions and provide added depth in attack.
Completing the list of home-based players is James Bogere of Masaka Sunshine FC. His inclusion is one of the notable highlights of the squad announcement and reflects the coaching staff’s willingness to recognise outstanding talent from across the local football landscape.
