Police FC completed a league double over Wakiso Giants FC with a 2-1 win at the Kabaka Kyabaggu sports stadium at the Wakissha resource center in Wakiso on Saturday.

Ben Ocen and substitute Samson Kigozi scored the goals the visitors who won the reverse fixture with similar score at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo while Geoffrey Sserunkuma got the hosts’ consolation which is also his first of the season.

Wakiso’s 8th loss of the season leaves them 8th on table with 20 points while Police move from the second land to 13th having 15 points in 16 games.

Ocen put Police ahead with his 10th of the season in the opening two minutes –finishing a move he started after swiftly beating Center half Fahad Kawoya.

Kawoya however almost turned provider when his long ball from his half was poorly cleared by Police skipper Joseph Sentume on which Sserunkuma pounced for the equalizer as the two sides broke off level.

In the second half, Wakiso substitute Yasri Mugume was overpowered by Ruben Kimera whose pin-point cross found unmarked Samson Kigozi to score his 4th of the campaign that confirmed a 2-1 deserved win for the Cops.

It was a battle for two Uganda Cranes assistants with Livingstone Mbabazi who is the second assistant at the Cranes taking charge of his first game as Wakiso Giants FC head coach having replaced Kefa Kisala in November.

Abdullah Mubiru, the Cranes second assistant was booked by referee Asadu Semeere after his side’s penalty appeal was turned down inside the added minute of the opening half.
