Rugby fans can now secure their seats for the Rugby Africa Cup 2025, with ticket sales officially launched following the extension of MTN MoMo’s partnership with the Uganda Rugby Union (URU). The tournament, scheduled for July 8 to 19 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, is set to be a major highlight on the continental sports calendar.
Tickets are available via the MTN MoMo app and the official ticketing platform www.momoticketing.com, offering a secure and convenient way for fans to plan their experience ahead of time. The partnership renewal cements MTN MoMo’s role as the official payment partner for the next three years, with ticketing technology and digital payments central to this year’s tournament experience.
Ticket pricing has been designed to accommodate a wide range of fans, with categories as follows:
Early Bird: UGX 20,000 (Limited availability)
Ordinary: UGX 30,000
VIP: UGX 60,000
VVIP: UGX 150,000
In a major boost for accessibility, MTN MoMo and URU are also running an exclusive one-day Flash Sale, offering tickets at just UGX 10,000 — available only on the launch day through the MoMo app and website.
Speaking at the ticket sales launch, held at Mandela National Stadium, Dennis Kakonge, General Manager Corporate and Legal Services at MTN MoMo, emphasized the company’s vision to simplify access to experiences that matter.
“Our ticketing platform brings fans closer to the game, enabling secure and affordable purchases from anywhere in Uganda,” Kakonge said. “It’s about building digital convenience into every fan’s journey, and that starts with getting your ticket.”
Uganda Rugby Union President Godwin Kayangwe echoed the sentiment, adding that digital ticketing is key to making this a truly national celebration.
“The Rugby Africa Cup 2025 is more than a tournament — it’s a festival of African sport. With this partnership, we’re making it easier for every Ugandan to be part of it, with a seamless and fully digital ticketing system,” he said.
Fans can also look forward to a completely cashless experience at the stadium, with MTN MoMo powering payments for food, merchandise, and fan park activities. Additional benefits include discounts and giveaways exclusive to MoMo users.
This will be Uganda’s second time hosting the Rugby Africa Cup at the newly refurbished Namboole Stadium, under the theme “Feel the African Spirit.”
Tickets are now live. Fans are encouraged to download the MTN MoMo app or visit www.momoticketing.com to grab theirs before early bird and Flash Sale offers run out.
