As the FUFA TV Cup 2nd Edition progresses to the round of 32, the excitement surrounding Uganda’s premier school football tournament continues to soar. This weekend promises a thrilling lineup of matches showcasing the best of traditional school football. With 14 fixtures on the agenda, anticipation is at an all-time high.

In a surprising turn of events, Nganwa High School Kabwohe and Mutolere SS have secured direct slots to the round of 16 after their opponents withdrew following the draw. This unexpected twist adds an element of intrigue to the competition, heightening suspense as fans and teams prepare for the upcoming matches.

More than just a football tournament, the FUFA TV Cup embodies a celebration of talent, dedication, and sportsmanship. The theme, “Excellence in Academics and Sports,” perfectly reflects the dual commitment to nurturing intellectual and athletic prowess among participating schools.

Five of the upcoming matches will be broadcast live on FUFA TV, ensuring fans can witness every moment of the action. The round of 32 will be contested on a home and away basis, with return legs scheduled for the following week, guaranteeing fiercely competitive encounters as teams vie for advancement.

The tournament kicks off with an exciting clash between Old Kampala Senior Secondary School and Kibuli Secondary School at 2:00 PM on Friday, followed by Makerere College School against Mengo Senior School at 4:00 PM. Simultaneously, Lango College will host Comboni College, promising a day filled with captivating school football.

One of the tournament’s standout stories is the emergence of young talent like Jinja Senior Secondary School’s Foozi Hakim, currently leading the scoring charts with four goals. His performances have earned him recognition as a player to watch, leaving fans eager to see if he can continue his impressive form.

The FUFA TV Cup is renowned for its unpredictability and the rise of underdog teams. The dramatic exit of defending champions St. Mary’s College Kisubi at the hands of St. Balikuddembe Mitala Maria in the round of 64 exemplifies the tournament’s thrilling nature, keeping fans on edge with each match.

Celebrating the rich traditions and rivalries of Uganda’s top academic schools, the FUFA TV Cup holds a special place in the hearts of many. It is a platform where history is made and legends are born, fostering not only competitive spirit but also strengthening community bonds among students, alumni, and fans.

As the round of 32 unfolds, competition is expected to intensify further, with each match crucial in the quest for the prestigious FUFA TV Cup. Players will leave no stone unturned in pursuit of victory, knowing their performances will be etched into their school’s sporting history.
