A team of seven players and one coach was on Friday flagged for the Egypt para- badminton championships scheduled for 23rd to 28th January in Cairo.
The side was sent off by officials from National Council of Sports (NCS) and the Uganda Badminton Association (UBA).
According to UBA CEO Simon Mugabe, the Egypt event is important to players as they are looking for points that can earn them slots to 2024 para Olympics.
According to the players, they are poised for the event as they have had enough training that will enable them to perform very well in Egypt.
The travelling team includes, Ali Mukasa, Rita Asiimwe, Sarah Nazziwa, Elizabeth Mwesigwa, Sumin Mutesi , Hasan Mubiru and Rose Nansereko.
The Egypt event will be the second last event before the Thailand event where the players will be gathering their points.
