The Uganda Premier League continues midweek with two key matchups as URA FC and Calvary FC hit the road in pursuit of their first victories this season.
Former league champions URA FC travel to Lugazi FC Stadium to take on a side that has impressed early in the campaign. Despite being unbeaten, URA have drawn all three of their opening matches and sit 9th on the table with 3 points.
Coached by Alex Isabirye, the tax collectors will be eager to turn draws into wins, but face a stern test in Lugazi, who have already drawn away to KCCA and defeated Calvary at home. Lugazi, guided by Isabirye’s elder brother Steven Bogere, are 5th on the log with 4 points—just one ahead of their visitors.
The sibling rivalry in the dugouts adds an intriguing subplot to an already competitive fixture, which kicks off at 4pm and will be broadcast live on FUFA TV and Sanyuka Prime.
Meanwhile, at Luzira, Calvary FC will be desperate to get off the mark when they face Maroons FC at the Maroons Stadium. The league newcomers have endured a difficult start, sitting rock bottom without a point after two losses.
Maroons, on the other hand, have bounced back from an opening day defeat to BUL by edging UPDF 2-1 in Bombo. The Luzira-based side currently occupy 8th place and could rise as high as second on the table with a win, depending on other results.
Kickoff for both matches is at 4pm.
