Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Youth Delegates, Roberts Kiwanuka who doubles as the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) Chairman, and Kabugo Mansoor, the UYFA Executive Committee member on Friday, 20th August 2021 visited youth football stakeholders from Bukedi and Bugisu subregions of the Eastern Region.

The above duo was accompanied by UYFA General Secretary Shafic Kigongo, Gad Batuuse, Frida Maberi who are FUFA Youth Regional Delegates (Eastern), and Owor Bernard the UYFA Coordinator for Bukedi Subregion.

The delegation in the morning met youth football stakeholders from Bukedi Subregion at Hyena Cafe, Tororo before meeting those from Bugisu Subregion in the afternoon at JENGA CDO, Mbale.

During their talks, UYFA Chairman, Roberts Kiwanuka thanked all individuals that are sacrificing the little they have to invest in youth football.

“I wish to thank all of you for investing in youth football, I know it is tiresome but here at the early stages we are the heart of the game meaning if we don’t prepare well, the future is more likely not to be of great benefits,” Roberts Kiwanuka said.

A grateful Kiwanuka added that UYFA and its mother body FUFA are ready to work with regional bodies to ensure that the future of the game is in safe hands.

In the meetings, stakeholders were taken through Minor Player Registration, Academy Player Compensation, Digitalization of Football, Academy Registration and Licensing.

All Academy/Youth football owners (Registered and Unregistered) were invited through FUFA Youth Regional Delegates and Sub regional Coordinators for guidance and assistance.

The visit for Busoga Sub region of Eastern Region will be scheduled soonest. This is due to the busy schedules of Delegates.

With effect from 2021, the 2 FUFA Youth Delegates to the AGM shall always visit the FUFA AGM hosting Region through the UYFA Sub region setting. It is through this that the Delegates wish to get closer to the academies in all regions.

The recent FUFA AGM (97th) was held on Saturday, 21st August at Wash & Wills Hotel in Mbale City.
