Cricket Uganda has officially unveiled the Uganda Women’s National Cricket Team, Victoria Pearls, that will compete in the Emerging Women’s Trophy 2025, scheduled to take place in Thailand from November 18 to December 1, 2025.

The tournament, hosted at the Terdthai Cricket Ground and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, brings together top emerging women’s cricket nations for a high-level international showcase of talent and potential.

The Victoria Pearls head into the competition full of confidence after a dominant performance in the 2025 Victoria Series, where they swept Canada 5–0 in October. The final squad includes the return of all-rounder Teddy Oyella, who replaces Phiona Kulume from the team that travelled to Namibia for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in July.

Uganda will begin their campaign on November 20th against Scotland at the Terdthai Cricket Ground, aiming to build on their impressive momentum and make a bold statement on the global stage.

This inaugural edition of the Emerging Women’s Trophy will feature five women’s associate members with ODI status – Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates – along with the top three non-ODI ranked T20I sides: Namibia, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The top four teams from the tournament will qualify for another new global event set for 2027, which will feature four full members who miss out on the 2027 Champions Trophy, plus the top four from this Emerging Nations competition.

The tournament forms part of the ICC’s broader strategy to expand the Women’s T20 World Cup to 16 teams by 2030. The 2026 edition will feature 12 nations, before increasing to 16, opening more qualification pathways and competitive opportunities for emerging cricket nations such as Uganda.
