Heathens RFC Captain Michael Wokorach was named the best of April in the rugby category during the Fortebet Real Stars Awards session held on Tuesday at Jude Color Solutions offices in Kampala.
To secure the award, Wokorach competed against Jinja Hippos’ Yasin Wasswa and Black Pearls’ Emily Lekuru.
Wokorach’s exceptional contributions throughout April, including a standout man of the match performance against Impis, played a pivotal role in the Heathens’ unbeaten regular season. His seamless transition from the center to 8th man position bolstered his team’s performance on the field.
“I’m thrilled to receive this award once again. It’s a particularly special achievement for me as I was among the inaugural recipients back in 2018, and now, in May 2024, winning it again feels even more meaningful. May holds a special place in my heart as it’s the month of my birth,” Wokorach said.

“Winning this award is always an honor as it serves as a source of motivation and inspiration for me. Today’s win reinforces my determination to persevere. I’ve dedicated myself to my work tirelessly, and seeing it recognized in this manner is truly gratifying, especially in a competitive field where I competed against younger talents,” Wokorach added.
Meanwhile, in football, the nominees included Shaban Muhammad, Sharon Namatovu, and Paul Mucureezi. However, it was Shaban Muhammad, the prolific KCCA FC striker, who emerged victorious. Muhammad’s stellar performance, comprising four goals and one assist in four games, propelled KCCA FC into title contention. With KCCA FC’s crucial match against UPDF looming, victory could potentially narrow the gap between them and table leaders Kitara.

In the boxing category, contenders Farahat Manirola, Henry Kasujja, and Harlod Mukuye showcased their prowess in the ring. However, it was Farahat Manirola, dubbed the “Superlight Nightmare,” who emerged victorious. Manirola’s impressive knockout win against DR. Congo’s Gael Assuman solidified his position as Uganda’s top boxer and second in Africa. At just 19 years old, Manirola boasts an impressive professional record of 9 bouts, including 5 knockouts.

The Tuesday awards session was graced by Real Stars Sports Agency CEO, Isaac Mukasa, ForteBet assistant media manager Resty Mbatidde and Henry Zzimbe from Jude Color Solutions who are partners.
