Mayanja Opens Up On Life At Express

Ivan Mayanja joined Uganda Premier League side Express FC in the previous transfer window on a 3 year deal after his exploits with CATDA in the 2020/21 FUFA big league season.

At just 20 years, Ivan Mayanja surely has a whole lot coming his way as a footballer and he himself says that he’s since settled in well insisting he couldn’t have made a better choice.

“For me it’s been surreal ever since I joined Express FC, everyone has helped me settle in and I’m so grateful. Management has done tremendously well so has the technical team and as for the players, we’re a family which for me is a sign of success,” Mayanja told the club website..

Asked about his first league experience on match day when the squad picked up a 1 – 1 draw away in Arua, the soft spoken forward who made the bench added that it was worthwhile.

“I am glad I made the traveling squad, we prepared well for the game and the boys put up a good fight. It’s so sad that our Captain was sent off but I’m happy that the lads soldiered on for a point,” Mayanja added

Ahead of the next game, Ivan Mayanja was quick to state it’s a do or die for the team.

“We’ve learnt from our mistakes and we’re ready, I’m personally looking forward to making my debut and helping the team win,” Mayanja noted ahead of match day.

Express FC host Bright Stars in their second league of the new campaign at the Betway Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku on Saturday 12th December.
