Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC have officially announced the signing of experienced attacking midfielder Vicent Zziwa from FUFA Big League side Iganga United on a permanent transfer.
The talented midfielder has penned a two-year contract with the Leaders, becoming the club’s latest addition as preparations continue for the new season.
Widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most technically gifted midfielders, Zziwa arrives with a reputation for his creativity, composure, and ability to dictate play in the final third. Blessed with an excellent first touch and strong ball-carrying ability, he is known for progressing attacks, operating effectively in tight spaces, and creating opportunities for teammates.
Zziwa began his football journey at Jinja Secondary School before rising to national prominence in 2016, when his outstanding performances helped Kirinya-Jinja SS (now Busoga United) secure the FUFA Big League title and promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
His success continued in 2017, when he played a key role in Jinja Secondary School’s triumph in the Copa Coca-Cola Championship, further cementing his status as one of the country’s promising midfield talents.
The midfielder moved to Maroons FC in 2020, spending two seasons with the Uganda Premier League side before returning to Jinja to join BUL FC. In 2024, he signed for Wakiso Giants FC, adding further top-flight experience to his career.
During the second half of last season, Zziwa featured for Iganga United in the FUFA Big League, where he impressed by contributing one goal and four assists in just eight appearances.
His arrival is expected to add creativity, experience, and attacking quality to Lugazi FC’s midfield as the club looks ahead to the upcoming campaign.
