Denis Onyango has showered praises to Ugandan international artiste Edrisa Musuza aka Eddy Kenzo over establishment of a football academy.
Onyango may not draw inspiration from the Big Talent soccer academy young players, but will obviously have their players and blessing after the Memelodi Sundowns goalkeeper extended support to the academy.
The Uganda Cranes Captain, in company of Cranes’ former and current players, delivered among others; training kits, cones, balls to Kenzo at Bayern Munich Arena, Munyonyo on Sunday before holding a motivational talk with the players who are mostly picked from the vulnerable Ghetto community.
“We all have a start point and it is not always good. These are the future stars and deserve support. It is not that I have a lot of money and neither because I am a friend to Kenzo, but if it was not the support I got at an age like this, I would not have achieved this far,” noted the continent’s best goal keeper.
Onyango, who urged kids to stay in school for formal education whilst developing their football talents was also hailed by Kenzo for the visit and items donated to the academy.
“I want to thank Onyango and this help will go down to help the kids grow their talents. Many of these kids come from the ghetto like me and we need to help them out. The best way to see them to the top is talent,” noted the Kenzo.
The Big Talent academy won the 2019 Watoto Wasoka (U13) Slums Derby after beating Soccer Stars 3-2 in penalties last weekend in Kazo, Kawempe.
Before the academy visit, Onyango first had a chat KCCA FC teenage play maker Allan Okello before he left for Switzerland where he is undergoing trials with Zurich FC.
