Absa Bank Uganda has officially unveiled the route map for the 2026 Absa KH3 – 7 Hills Run, setting the stage for one of Kampala’s most anticipated endurance events scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The run will start and finish at Millennium Grounds in Lugogo, featuring three race categories—5km, 10km, and the flagship 25km—each designed to test participants across Kampala’s hilly terrain.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director David Wandera confirmed that all race categories will flag off from Millennium Grounds, with this year’s edition offering heightened competition and rewards.
“This year we have three routes, which are the 5km, 10km and 25km. We have also raised the competitive stakes for this year’s edition. The top two male and top two female finishers who complete all seven hills will earn slots to participate in the Absa Black Stars Marathon in Accra, Ghana. Additionally, the top male and top female runners will each receive a land title from Bakayima, making 2026 the most rewarding edition yet,” Wandera said.
The 5km route will loop through Naguru, covering key roads including Estate Road, Katalima Road, and Naguru Drive before returning to Lugogo. The 10km race extends further into Ntinda and Bukoto, offering a more demanding urban course.

The highlight of the event remains the 25km race, a city-spanning challenge that cuts across multiple hills and neighborhoods including Kololo, Nakasero, Old Kampala, Namirembe, Mengo, Nsambya, and Kibuli, before looping back to Lugogo. The route is designed to test endurance while showcasing Kampala’s diverse landscape.

Organisers have also mapped out multiple water points along all routes to ensure runner safety and hydration throughout the race.
Beyond the competition, the run continues to serve a social cause. Funds raised from the event will support partner organisations focused on keeping girls in school and addressing barriers to education. Beneficiaries include Baylor College of Medicine’s DREAMS Programme, Amref Health Africa, Windle International Uganda, World Vision Uganda, Nyaka AIDS Orphan Project, Katalemwa Cheshire Home, and Smart Girls Uganda.
“These partnerships ensure that every shilling raised translates into real, measurable impact for girls across Uganda,” the organisers noted.
Registration for the 2026 Absa KH3-7 Hills Run is already open, with participation packages priced at UGX 35,000 for the ordinary kit, UGX 45,000 for the timed kit, and UGX 150,000 for the VIP kit.
