Another fire outbreak hit Ugandan crew of Yasin Nasser and Joseph Kamya as they checked in at in-service control zone at the Africa Rally Championship (ARC) in Iringa, Tanzania.

This is the second time the moil-sponsored crew is being hit by fire breakout while racing, as first one was in Rwanda two months ago.

The scarely incident happened on Saturday after their car being held in dry hay, sparking off small fire flames from their car exhaust, as the latter was caused by loose fuel pipe.

Fortunately, the crew escaped unhurt and as flames were instantly put out, saving car from fully burning.

The day’s celebrants were the crew of Jas Mangat and Jules in Hyundai I20, who took command of the rally, after posting fastest times in day’s nine run special stages.

Mangat took command of leg1 with a lead of one minute, 10.8seconds against second lying Kenyan crew of Karan Patel and Tauseef Khan in Ford Feista R5.
Homeboy, Ahmed Huwel in a Ford Feista Proto who came out from a sabbatical ended the day third, as Hamza Anwar and Randeep Singh lie fourth and fifth respectively.

Yasin Nasser restarts today (sunday) under super rally as he struggles to pick crucial points for his Tanzania championship title hunt that he currently leads with 60 points.

Drivers head to Sao Hill Forest, Mafinga area, where two competitive stages named as Matanana and Indutries driven thrice to a total of 129.7km have been gazetted.

Statistically, Patel currently leading the ARC chat with 120 points, only needs to finish in top three to be announced 2023 African champion, just as Mangat prays he wins the final round, and Patel finishes off the top three positions.

Who would be the next African Champion 2023?
