A few weeks ago, Dove All Stars, a FUFA Big League outfit officially and formally changed it’s name to Arua Hill Sports Club ahead of the 2020/21 football season.

According to club (Arua Hill SC) Chairman Joel Aita, change of name is the club’s genesis to a great future in sport, guided by a five-year strategic plan.

“Between one and two years from now we want to stabilize the team and set up systems,” Aita told the media in a press conference on Monday at Aangan Restaurant in Lugogo House.
“We also want to qualify for the First Division (Uganda Premier League); it can be this season or next season but major emphasis is to stabilize the club,” Aita added.

Among other key aspects, the club is also seeking to work on international engagements and have some of its players sold to foreign teams.

The club also seeks to broaden it’s wings to other sports disciplines notably basketball, netball and the like and later build strong academies.

“West Nile has untapped talent that we want to nurture. We shall also scout young players from other parts of the country,” Aita said adding that they will also build women’s teams.

The team’s new home ground will be Barifa Stadium where they will host all their home games. However, the club is currently building its home ground dubbed Arua Hill which comprises of; stadium, apartments, shops, doctors plaza. Aita says the facility will be complete in July 2021 and it will be able to sustain the team.

The club is also seeking to have fans get some shares in the team in the near future and also attract sponsors.

The club has announced Development Infrastructure (DI) as its shirt sponsor. DI comes in on financial grounds with a 100 Million Shillings package and are also seeking to help the team develop in various aspects.

The club has also unveiled Anthony Afeti as its CEO.
