Uganda Crested Cranes Head coach Faridah Bulega has named 35 players in a provisional squad to start preparations for the 2019 CECAFA Women Challenge Cup due November 14-23 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Bulega, who will be assisted by Edward Kaziba and Ayub Khalifan as her first and second assistant respectively also named Uganda Christian University (UCU) goal keeper as the new captain in the absence of USA-based Akiror Tracy Jones.

Bulega, who summoned no foreign based player on the team, hailed FUFA for beefing up the technical department with Ayub Khalifan. The players will non residential training on this Thursday at Luzira for five days before entering residential camp at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.

The final team will be named on November 12 to travel to Dar es Salaam. Ruth Aturo will be captain with her assistant to be named later. Tanzania are back to back champions after beating Uganda at last year’s final in Rwanda.
