On Thursday, 14th March, Eric Baleteirewa was unveiled as the illustrious recipient of the grand prize in Absa Bank Uganda’s esteemed Premier League Campaign, affectionately dubbed ‘Win your ticket to Glory’. His triumphant win granted him an exclusive, all-expenses-covered voyage to the United Kingdom. During this extraordinary journey, Baleteirewa will be treated to an unforgettable experience as he spectates the thrilling Premier League showdown between football titans Arsenal and Everton at the legendary Emirates Stadium on May 19, 2024.

The exclusive package encompasses a plethora of lavish amenities, including round-trip flights to the UK, effortless airport and hotel transfers, a decadent 3-night accommodation at the prestigious Mayfair Hotel, coveted match tickets, and delectable dining encounters. Moreover, it presents an immersive guided tour of the revered Tottenham Hotspur stadium, granting Baleteirewa privileged access to upscale dining establishments and boutique outlets such as Lillywhites, where he can indulge in acquiring his beloved team’s memorabilia. Beyond these offerings, the package promises an array of additional delights and surprises, ensuring Baleteirewa’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary.

Launched in December of the preceding year, the campaign bore fruit with 40 triumphant individuals, among whom 39 fortunate Absa customers were bestowed with fuel vouchers valued at UGX 200,000 each. As the undisputed victor, Baleteirewa not only clinched the top prize but also earned the privilege of selecting a companion to accompany him on the prestigious UK Premier League excursion.

Notably, Absa has brought the coveted Premier League trophy to Uganda, enabling local enthusiasts to revel in its glory and capture cherished moments. Moreover, in the current season alone, the bank has graciously distributed 16 Premier League tickets to Absa patrons, granting them access to four eagerly awaited matches.

Introduction of Absa Card Send

Simultaneously, the prize handover ceremony coincided with the launch of Absa Card Send, an innovative solution integrated into the Absa Mobile banking app. This groundbreaking feature empowers Absa customers to effortlessly transfer funds between their Absa Visa cards and any other Visa card worldwide. This seamless service revolutionizes the way customers manage their finances, offering unparalleled convenience and accessibility on a global scale.

Announcing the launch of this new product, Absa Retail and Business Banking Director, Musa Jallow said that as an industry leader in the digital finance space, Absa continues to scale up innovations of financial products to speak to today’s digitally conscious customer who has instant access to almost everything, news, shopping, interactions, and now, money too. “To be able to send money, our customers have previously relied on third-party platforms like money transfer services, which they often have to visit physically. This product comes in to break these barriers to sending and receiving money, that transcends physical borders and save time and money in the process.”
 
The Absa Card Send service facilitates real-time cashless transactions, empowering our customers’ entrepreneurial endeavors by providing seamless financial transactions on the move. Designed to cater to the dynamic needs of modern-day movers and shakers, it eliminates the typical delays encountered in traditional financial transactions, allowing our customers to stay agile and focused on their goals without being hindered by cumbersome processes.
