The Batball Open West edition, first of its kind, will run over the weekend of 7th-8th Day of April, 2023 with 9 (nine) matches played at Serenity Oval, Kamengo and 4 teams constituting top young Cricketing Talent in the region, amidst local crowds and TV viewership globally.
Batball Open West edition is intended to create a social impact tagged ‘keep personal hygiene’ through various direct and indirect impact activities.
A Local Organizing Committee, soundly led by Yusuf Nanga has been constituted and will be responsible for running this event which was launched on Wednesday in Kampala.
Batball believes the Western Region and Cricket go a long way, and with this tournament Western Region would again come on Global radar with worthy players going for Global Exchange Programs, International and National U-19 tournaments, and Batball Regionals with greater global impact, viewership, and scope.
Batball is desirous of regional participation to maximize value creation, value transfer, impact, and an ardent desire to put Western Uganda on the global Cricket map.
The best 16 players of Batball Open west edition will progress to the next challenge, where they shall meet respective best players from other regions to compete in BATBALL X later this year which is an Inter-regional event.

The names of the teams have been derived from birds that are common to the region so that the locals can identify with the teams. The teams will compete in a ten overs a side format with the winner walking away with the Grand Prize. Individual winners will also be rewarded on the day.
