Vipers SC extended their 2019/20 Uganda premier league unbeaten run with a 2-1 away win over Kyetume at the Namboole stadium.

Fahad Bayo scored his 7th of the campaign as the top scorer which was also his first away from St Mary’s stadium, Kitende. Dan Sserunkuma extended the lead from the spot after Benson Tahomera foul on Bayo as the three-time champions carried a 2-0 half time lead. Robert Sentongo pulled one back for the hosts in the Second half after being fed by skipper Vincent Kayizzi for his second of the season.

Vipers that came off a barren stalemate against Onduparaka away made only three changes in the starting XI with Karim Watambala and Dan Sserunkuma coming in for Frank Tumwesigye and Brian Kalumba respectively.

Kyetume, who have won four, came into the fixture with lowest goals conceded (3) and made one change with Patrick Ochan replacing Deo Isejja in the line-up that started during the 1-0 home at Proline last time out.

The Venoms that have scored most games (17) this season extended lead at the summit with 24 points at the top after 10 games, four above second placed BUL FC while Kyetume are 7th with 13 points in 9 games. Vipers return to action this Saturday with a trip to Busoga United after Kyetume visits BUL on Friday.
