Bayo unsatisfied with Mbarara City point

Fahad Bayo grabbed a brace as Vipers SC drew 2-2 at home against Mbarara City in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league last Saturday at the St Mary’s stadium, Kitende.

The forward, who joined the three-time champions this season from Zambia’s Buildcon, however, feels that they deserved more than a point from the game.

Bayo has so far scored five goals this season in four games and one assist (three in the premier league and two in the Pilsner Super 8 pre-season tournament) but told club website that they deserved to score more than two goals.

“We’re not happy with that result despite doing a great job in the second half. We deserved more; I think after Mbarara City scored, we started to put on pressure and tried to push a lot before half time. But in the second half we had some chances and l scored twice. I think we also had capability of scoring a third and fourth through Abraham Ndugwa and Brian Nkuubi, but it was a tough game,” noted Bayo, who also hailed right back Paul Willa and striker Dan Sserunkuma for the two respective assists.

“They were great passes from both Paul Willa and Dan Sserunkuma. For Willa, he just looked at me and knew that I’m going to run, so the ball was perfect. The same with Sserunkuma’s cross that l headed in. I have to say the goals happened because of those two passes,” added Bayo.

He said that when joining Vipers SC, he liked to play as a striker, but if he is needed on the wing, he will move wide and also try to do his best.
