Saturday April 6, Return-leg

Uganda vs Ethiopia, Lugogo

Uganda national football women team (Crested Cranes) will be hoping to bag an impressive result today when they play Ethiopia this Wednesday in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games qualifier, first leg in Addis Ababa.

Head coach Faridah Bulega named her final 20-man squad on Monday before leaving early Tuesday morning. The team has six midfielders, six strikers and eight defenders, has Marion Amangat (Olila High school) and impressive winger Fauziah Najjemba relishing an opportunity to make their international debut. The team had camped at FUFA technical center, Njeru since March 22 and Bulega is sure she selected the best to do what is expected of the team. “All my players are good in camp and have been working hard. We are going for a win in Ethiopia because we want to carry first leg advantage or even seal it away from home to avoid the pressure on the return leg three days later,” noted Bulega, whose squad has three foreign-based players including; Yudaya Nakayenze (Siminole State College, USA), strikers Sandra Nabweteme (Southwestern Oklahoma State University, USA) and Fazila Ikwaput (BIIK Kazygurt, Kazakhstan). Afer the return leg this Saturday at StarTimes stadium in Lugogo, the aggregate winner faces Cameroon in the last qualifier stage before securing a ticket to Tokyo for Olympic (women football) Games.
