In a stunning display of cricket prowess, Uganda men’s national cricket team, Cricket Cranes secured the bronze medal in a thrilling match against Kenya at the 13th African Games. The match, which captivated audiences with its electrifying moments, showcased Uganda’s dominance on the field.

Batting first, Uganda set a formidable target of 206/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Simon Ssesazi emerged as a standout performer, showcasing his skill with a brilliant knock of 66 runs off just 44 deliveries. Supported by Dinesh Nakrani’s explosive innings of 51* off 21 balls and contributions from Robinson Obuya and Roger Mukasa, Uganda posted a challenging total.

Kenya, in pursuit of the target, faltered against Uganda’s formidable bowling attack. Despite efforts from Lucas Oluoch and Shem Ngoche, Kenya managed only 100/9 in their 20 overs. Cosmas Kyewuta emerged as the hero for Uganda, wreaking havoc with his exceptional bowling performance, claiming an impressive 4 wickets for just 14 runs in his spell. Henry Ssenyondo also contributed significantly, taking 2 wickets for 25 runs.

Cosmas Kyewuta’s stellar performance rightfully earned him the Player of the Match award, highlighting his pivotal role in Uganda’s victory. With this remarkable win, Uganda clinched the bronze medal, showcasing their prowess and determination on the cricketing stage.

As the celebrations ensue, Uganda revels in this historic moment, proudly adding another medal to their tally at the African Games. This victory not only exemplifies Uganda’s cricketing talent but also serves as a testament to their resilience and spirit in the face of fierce competition.

With eyes set on future triumphs, Uganda’s cricketing journey continues to inspire and captivate audiences, promising more thrilling moments on the field. As they bask in the glory of their bronze medal triumph, Uganda reaffirms its status as a force to be reckoned with in African cricket.
