Cricket Uganda (CU) has opened discussions with Made In Uganda (MIU) on a formal long-term strategic partnership following a successful collaboration during the Cricket Uganda 50 Overs Men’s League Final at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The meeting brought together Cricket Uganda Honorary Secretary Denis Musali, Operations Manager Joshua Mwanja and members of the federation’s Media and Communications team with officials from Made In Uganda to explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at strengthening domestic cricket while promoting local enterprise.
The discussions focused on how both organisations can leverage their respective platforms to create sustainable commercial value, increase fan engagement and provide greater visibility for Ugandan businesses through Cricket Uganda’s expanding domestic competition calendar.
The talks build on the successful partnership during the 50 Overs Men’s League Final, where Made In Uganda supported the event by presenting specially curated corporate hampers to individual award winners across the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The recognition of standout performers including Perry Wazombe, Junaid Khan, Riazat Ali Shah, Devash Patel and Simon Okecho highlighted a shared commitment to celebrating excellence while showcasing locally made products.
Reflecting on the discussions, Cricket Uganda Honorary Secretary Denis Musali said the federation is committed to building partnerships that extend beyond the field of play.
“Our goal at Cricket Uganda is to build sustainable relationships that extend beyond the boundary ropes. Partnering with a platform like Made In Uganda allows us to use our growing domestic tournaments to create meaningful commercial value and support the local ecosystem,” Musali said.
Operations Manager Joshua Mwanja said the collaboration during the league final demonstrated the potential of integrating local brands into major cricket events to enhance the experience for players and supporters alike.
“From an operational perspective, having Made In Uganda support the 50 Overs Final at Lugogo showed us exactly how we can elevate the match-day experience for our players. As we look ahead to a very busy tournament calendar, our goal is to create a seamless environment where local brands can showcase their products efficiently while we deliver top-tier sporting entertainment,” Mwanja said.
Should the partnership be formalised, it is expected to align Cricket Uganda’s major domestic tournaments with Made In Uganda’s commercial and digital platforms, creating new opportunities for local manufacturers and vendors to reach thousands of spectators at venues as well as an expanding digital audience.
