After announcing his entry into professional boxing late last year, Shafik Kiwanuka ‘killing machine’looks has since upped his preparations for a winning start to the professional career. The heavy weight fighter looks forward to knockdown experienced Obadiah Mwangi form Kenya when the two face off next Friday, March 22 at MTN Arena, Lugogo at Shs10,000 charges. This will be a six-round non title main bout of the night. “I am in shape and ready for the fight. I thank my coach Abdul Tebazalwa and the Big Strikers International for proper management. I am training well with double sessions and getting better each day,” noted Kiwanuka, whose move to professional boxing was motivated by the controversial miss out on last year’s (2018) Commonwealth games in Australia. The towering 23-year old pugilist was early this year signed by Big Strikers International for five years in a deal worth Shs20m per year –which totals to Shs100m. The deal was unveiled to the media by Big Strikers international chairman Sam Buchanan, Uganda professional boxing commission (UPBC) President Salim Uhuru, Kiwanuka among others. Before the main bout on the night, Robert Kamya will battle Charles Kakande in 10 rounds, Latib Muwonge faces Kenneth Kaunda in 6 rounds, Mudde Ntambi returns from sabbatical against Robert Mudawo for 8 rounds, Hudson Muhumuza takes on Roderick Okot in 8 rounds while Fahad Mayombwe fights James Kayongo in 6 rounds.
