The Hockey Dreams Foundation (HDF), an organization dedicated to empowering children in Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia through hockey, has issued an appeal for assistance in transporting equipment to its project locations.
The foundation, which operates in Kampala, Lilongwe, Blantyre, and Lusaka, collects hockey equipment such as sticks, balls, and cones in the Netherlands to support its Sport for Development initiatives. However, it faces challenges in delivering these items to Africa several times a year.
HDF is calling on individuals and companies to help with transportation, whether by plane, boat, or truck. The organization has emphasized the importance of any assistance, even if it involves carrying an extra bag of luggage.
Expanding opportunities through sport
The Hockey Dreams Foundation plays a key role in transforming lives in Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia. It trains children to become hockey coaches, providing them with education and employment opportunities while keeping them away from the dangers of street life. These coaches, in turn, organize hockey training sessions and camps, where children can learn, play, and build friendships.
By creating a cycle of mentorship, the foundation ensures the sustainability of its programs while fostering community development through sports.
How to Help
In addition to transportation support, HDF is seeking volunteers to join its initiatives. Interested individuals or organizations can learn more about the foundation’s work and impact by visiting www.hockeydreams.nl.
