Jinja Hippos will play their match at hand against Warriors on Good Friday (2nd April 2021) at Kyadondo Rugby Club. The fixture was initially meant to be played in the opening weekend of the Rugby Premier League four weeks ago but there were issues regarding the hosting ground (Legends) and the match had to be rescheduled.

Warriors are winless in the opening three league matches and are at the bottom of the 10-team table with no point while Hippos are fourth on the radar with 11 points from two wins and one slim loss.

Last time out, both teams lost their matches with Hippos losing to Buffaloes at Kyadondo (6-3) while Warriors fell prey to Black Pirates with a 9-31 defeat at Legends.

Ahead of the Friday clash, Hippos are hoping to right their wrongs and pile more plight on Warriors.

“Ahead of the game, we are looking at polishing our mistakes. We don’t focus on other teams. We only focus on what we have to offer them,” Hippos Coach Robert Sseguya said.

Sseguya attributes their previous loss to mistakes with ball handling and poor decision making. He also confirmed that this has been ironed out and the team is ready to take down Warriors.

The Hippos – Warriors game will be the only match played during the Easter holiday with play returning on Saturday, 10th April 2021 across various turfs.
