Kalungi wife donates to Uganda volleyball federation

Jacqueline Kalungi extends volleyball skills to teenagers

Jacqueline Kalungi, the wife to former Uganda Cranes and Charlotte Independence defender Henry Kalungi under their Henry Kalungi Foundation gave out Volleyball equipment to Uganda Volleyball Federation.

The equipment that included balls, nets, jerseys, socks and sport shoes among others were handed to the Federation President Hadijah Namanda on Monday at Kibuli Secondary School.

Jacqueline gives equipment to Namanda

Jacqueline said that the foundation is aimed at improving lives of people in the country through various activities “We started this foundation with the major aim of improving lives of people especially in Uganda. We have been focusing on football but since I am a former Volleyball player in USA, we decided to teach the girl child skills about the game. We have been supported by the USA Volleyball Federation, Winthrop University and other organizations,” she said.

Namanda hailed the Henry Kalungi Foundation for the overwhelming support. “The equipment will help in the development of volleyball in the country. I thank Henry and Jacqueline for the amazing support,” she stated.

Kalungi confirmed that they are to purchase 10 acres of land in Bulemeezi were they will construct a boarding School with a sports complex that will help in improving lives of children from slums.
