Uganda beat Kenya 4-0 in the final to win the inaugural Cecafa U15 tournament on Friday at the Asmara international stadium, Eritrea.

The side under Coach Jackson Magera also won the competition without conceding a goal. Devis Ogwal headed in the opening goal off Shafik Waswanga’s cross before Travis Mutyaba superbly scored from a free kick to give Uganda a 2-0 half time lead.

At the restart, tournament top scorer Abasi Kyeyune scored a brace to make it 4-0 beyond Kenya’s reach. Kyeyune completed Carros Kaddu’s pedal work before he beat a host of Kenyan players to send shoot in the roof top corner for the fourth of the day and his 9th goal of the tournament.

The goal was also Uganda’s 23rd in the tournament. Kyeyune is a product of Airtel Rising Stars (ARS) and was named the Most valuable player (MVP) in this year’s Kampala region ARS as he captained KJT to second finish behind Kawempe Muslim SS.
