Kasumali wants to ‘retire’ Golola

Ongom Kizito aka Kasumali has started hard training as he prepares for his return to the ring following his 3-year sabbatical. Kizito, one of the finest local audio adverts recorders, beat aged Tanzanian fighter Oswald Maneno in late November 2015 at Nakivubo stadium parking yard in what also proved to be Maneno’s last professional bout.

Kasumali will be taking on Moses Golola in a light heavy bout on a fight night dubbed ‘unfinished business’ which is due June 9 (Heroes Day) at a yet to be confirmed venue in Kampala. “I want to train hard and be at my fitness peak. I will concentrate on making power and ensuring fitness in the early stages of the training before going for tactics. I want to beat Golola and I also record his retirement advert myself as he confesses,” noted Kasumali. According to the match-maker, Eddie Gombya of Step By Step promotions says that they have written to Police and KCCA questing for authority to stage the fight at Wilson road. “We want to introduce street boxing in Uganda just as you see street jam in music and we have already contacted KCCA and Uganda Police for authority. This fight was supposed to be on last Boxing Day but one of the fighters failed to make weight. The fans are highly demanding for it –the reason we have decided to make it happen,” noted Gombya, who noted that the fight night will also have exciting under card bouts.
