KCCA FC will face NEC FC in the FUFA Super 8 final at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on today evening (Tuesday, 18 August 2026 at 7 PM), with both sides seeking to end their tournament campaigns with silverware.
The final is scheduled to kick off at 7pm East African Time.
KCCA FC reached the final after overcoming BUL FC in the quarter-finals before edging Kitara FC 1-0 in the semi-final. NEC FC, meanwhile, advanced after eliminating UPPC FC in the quarter-finals and defeating defending champions SC Villa 3-1 in the semi-final.
The meeting will be the second consecutive FUFA Super 8 final for NEC FC. The club reached last year’s final but lost 2-0 to SC Villa.
KCCA FC will be appearing in the competition’s final for the third time. The club won the inaugural edition in 2018 after defeating Onduparaka FC 2-0 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, and returned to the final in 2019.
The two teams have taken different routes to the final.
KCCA FC defeated BUL 2-1 in both legs of their quarter-final before securing a 1-0 victory over Kitara in the semi-final. Their goals in the tournament have been scored by Charles Lwanga, Saidi Mayanja and Yunus Sibira, with Lwanga and Mayanja contributing two goals each.
NEC FC drew 1-1 with UPPC in the first leg of their quarter-final before winning the return match 2-1. They then came from behind to beat SC Villa 3-1 in the semi-final.
The final will provide an early competitive test for both clubs ahead of the new season, with the FUFA Super 8 offering an opportunity to claim silverware before the start of the regular league campaign.
KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo said his team would approach the match with the intention of winning the competition.
“There is being competitive, and then there is winning trophies; that is the main target this season,” Ssenyondo said ahead of the final.
Both sides are expected to field strong squads for the decisive encounter at Nakivubo, with KCCA FC’s squad also including several academy players.
The final is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, at 7pm EAT at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
