*KCCA 1-1 URA
*Arua Hill 0-1 SC Villa

KCCA FC and URA FC drew 1-1 in a closely contested StarTimes Uganda Premier League game on Saturday at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

KCCA FC’s Mato nodded in from close quarters early in the game but was flagged offside by the first assistant referee in the 12th minute.

The visitors’ best chance in the opening stanza was smartly traced by Geofrey Wasswa who then teed up Poloto but the latter’s effort was blocked by URA’s Fesali in the 23rd minute.

URA’s Viane Ssekajugo was cautioned for a foul on KCCA’s Mujuzi Musitafa

KCCA should have found the opener in the 34th minute but Poloto opted to shoot himself when teeing up Aheebwa who was free on the far side was the better option. URA’s custodian Nafian thwarted the chance away in the 34th minute.

Brian Aheebwa and Okello had a quick interchange of passes from the edge of the box, the latter picked his spot and curled the ball towards the goal but it flew out by inches with 6 minutes to play.

After recess, Mujuzi got cautioned by center referee Mashood Ssali.

URA’s Hudu Mulikyi sent back a loose ball to his goalkeeper which was intercepted by Mato but his effort hit the crossbar and out at the hour mark.

Substitute Derrick Nsibambi broke the deadlock with his first touch of the game in the 64th minute.

Five minutes later, KCCA FC assistant skipper Julius Poloto restored parity with a calm finish past URA’s Alionzi.

Kankonde replaced Aheebwa with 10 minutes to go.

The forward missed putting the ball in the back of the net when he headed Mato’s well-weighted cross wide with the goalkeeper beaten.

KCCA FC visit SC Villa next week on Friday in match day nine of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League while URA will host title holders Vipers SC the next day.
