Tuesday

Comoros vs Uganda

Zambia vs Mauritius

There will be no room for error as Uganda takes on Comoros in the COSAFA U17 women tournament this Tuesday in the last Group A tie at the Anjalay stadium.

The Uganda side walloped hosts Mauritius 11-0 in the last game. Skipper Juliet Nalukenge netted six times, Fauzia Najjemba grabbed a brace while Stella Musubika, Margaret Kunihira and Daphine Nanyenda scored the other goals as the guest participants got their first victory at the tournament.

Uganda had earlier drawn 1-1 with Zambia with Nalukenge still scoring for Uganda. The Kawempe Muslim SS striker is now the leading scorer at the tournament with seven goals.

“I am happy that we came up with a big win after the opening draw. I want to top the group and thus I want my team to have a more than 15-goal margin victory against Comoros because they lost to Zambia 15-0. I do not expect the girls to be carried away by the Mauritius victory,” noted Khalifa, who wants to avoid playing South Africa from Group B at the semi finals. Comoros are yet to win a game at the tournament after falling to Mauritius 4-0.
