Kitunga Alumni are the winners of the second edition of the FUFA-Kabira club corporate football tournament after beating FUFA FM 3-1 in penalties following a 1-1 normal time draw in a final played last Sunday at Kabira country club.
Kitunga, who are the Alumni of Muntunyera High School in Ntungamo beat Kingin Pharm in penalties at the semi finals.
The youthful team won Shs1m cash prize and medals while runners up FUFA FM, who beat Dream chasers at semi finals, went home with Shs500000.
Kingin Pharm beat Dream chasers to finish third and fourth respectively. Kitunga Alumni Abel Atukunda and Obar Ahereza were named the tournament’s best goal keeper and most valuable player (MVP) respectively whilst Innocent Atiku (Dream Chasers) finished top scorer with 5 goals.
The Hisense-Uganda sponsored tournament will be annual, according to Rakesh Hurrychurn, the Kabira Country club General Manager.
