Ivan Magomu contributed a total of 13 points as Stanbic Black Pirates beat Rhinos 45-00 in a matchday 14 fixture of the 2023 Nile Special Rugby Premier League on Saturday at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere.

Magomu managed one try and four conversions as Pirates ran over Rhinos who couldn’t find a response throughout the game. He was named man of the match for his stellar display.

In total, Pirates ran in seven tries and five conversions with the visitors having none to their name.

Magomu had a try and a conversion to his name in the first half. He also converted Sydney Gongodyo’s try as Pirates led 14-00 at halftime.

Pirates further dominated proceedings in the second half scoring five tries and three conversions to cap a successful outing in front of the home crowd. Arnold Atukunda, Timothy Odong, Conrad Wanyama, Ochocinco and Peter Tinashe touched down for the Sea Robbers with Magomu managing two conversions while Hassan Kulubya also utilized one conversion.

Elsewhere, leaders Heathens survived a scare in the Kyadondo derby after salvaging a 20-19 win against Buffaloes.

The Jinja sides won their games at their respective venues with Walukuba Barbarians beating Impis 37-07 while Hippos condemned Plascon Mongers to a 20-10 beating.

Rams remain the only winless team in the division after they lost 55-33 to Kobs at Legends. It was an improved display from Rams but a loss means that they are getting closer to relegation.
